Mike Sandham reference, 25 Aug 2026, sourced to pantser.cmvo.org.za's "Lys van Weermaglede wat aan diens gesterf het" (SADF deaths 1962-2001, excl. 1993). Source columns as transcribed -- Rang: "S SGT", Eenheid (unit, truncated in source): "NATAL CO", Plek/Oorsaak/Detail/next-of-kin (run together by the source's column layout): "THREE SISTERS MILITARY VEHICLE MS J. VAN HEERDEN DAUGHTER". Additional wrapped text: "ACCIDENT". Unit left blank rather than inserting the truncated PDF unit text as a guess -- "NATAL CO" wasn't confidently mappable to an existing Unit record.
Col (rt) Graham du Toit, Last Post, 28 Aug 2026: S/Sgt M.F.A. Van Heerden, Natal Command, age 41, died in a military vehicle accident at Three Sisters near Beaufort West while returning from a Defence Force netball tournament in Cape Town, 28 Aug 1994 -- same incident as Cpl M.C.C. Brits (PersonNumber 29605, 452 Parachute Battalion). Age, Unit and CauseDeath filled in from Graham's account (previously blank/garbled, sourced only from a truncated Afrikaans PDF transcription). CONFLICT: Bushwar Books' same-day post gives age 38 and 'private motor vehicle accident in Durban' -- a materially different account; not used, Graham's fuller and more specific narrative preferred, Bushwar's version noted here for the record rather than silently discarded. Daughter's next-of-kin note from the original PDF source (Ms J. Van Heerden) retained separately above.
Mike Sandham's research log ("List 1"), imported 16 Sep 2026, credited to The South Africa War Graves Project unless his entry says otherwise: gives Age 38 against this record's 41. RESOLVED IN THE ROLL'S FAVOUR -- this record carries a real date of birth (1953-03-02), and against the date of death (1994-08-28) the age at death computes to 41. Mike's figure is wrong. No change made.
