sourceThis is an extract from my book ;'Zulu Zulu Golf' We started to pick up the other vehicles on the radio and I heard someone call: ???We are close. The Ovambos say it???s any moment now. Can???t the gunships see anything???? Then, suddenly: ???Maintain radio silence. I must make a forced landing ?????? It was Major Tickly. His engine cut out and down he went into a mahangu field. He landed on the furrows crossways, so his wheels caught and the nose went straight down. He was killed on impact. Two gunships had gone to refuel and the remaining two, who didn???t yet know that Major Tickly was dead, withdrew to assist him. He had crash-landed quite near to me and the gunship pilots saw that I was close. They called to try to make contact with me before landing at the crash site, but I ignored them ??? I had to get to where the action was about to happen. Then, suddenly, ???Contact, contact, contact!
