Killed in aircraft accident, in Atlas Oryk #1215, at Kroonstad. Ten people died and 14 were injured in the crash outside Kroonstad. Members of the SA Army, the Kroonstad area commandos, SAP and the SAAF were busy with a crime prevention exercise, Operation Tsoha II, based at a temporary base at Bossiespruit. This flight was one of the short flights that took support personnel on a "thank you" flight. This flight was the third one the Oryx had done that day. The wreckage was found along the Vals River
