British South Africa Company Medal

Rhodesia ยท instituted 1896

Circular silver medal, 36mm diameter, manufactured by Heaton and Company of Birmingham. Obverse: left-facing effigy of Queen Victoria, diadem and veil, "Victoria Regina". Reverse (Richard Caton Woodville Jr.): a charging lion wounded by an assegai, native weapons and shield, mimosa bush. Ribbon 35mm wide, golden-yellow watered silk with three dark blue stripes.

Qualifying criteria: Service in the First and Second Matabele Wars, and the Pioneer Column operations in Mashonaland.
